• Price history and store comparison

  Every price you have paid for an ingredient over time, which store has been cheapest for it lately, and a hint on the shopping list when the saving is real.

• Fill the empty dinners

  One tap proposes a dinner for each empty night: leftovers before they turn first, then recipes that use what is expiring, then favourites you have not had in a while. Proposals only — nothing is written until you accept, and never a recipe someone at the table avoids.

• Templates and repeats

  Save a week you liked as a template and apply it to an empty one. Repeat a breakfast every Monday for eight weeks, removable one at a time or all at once.

• Freezes well, per recipe

  Whether a dish freezes and how many dinners a batch makes, on the recipe rather than assumed for everything.

• Receipts from more stores

  Instacart emails import today, and other receipts paste in. Direct import for the stores testers actually use, in the order they ask.

• Smarter suggestions

  Deliberately last: a suggestion is only as good as the history behind it, and the history is what this year of use builds.

• Barcode scanning uses the camera in Chrome (Android and desktop) but not Safari, where you type the number instead.
• Ordering on Instacart needs a developer key, and signing in to Instacart for receipt fetching only works on a computer, not the hosted copy.
• Pictures come from Wikipedia and are sometimes odd — a cake for butter. Any picture can be swapped or removed from the ingredient's sheet.
• Nutrition lookups from the USDA are limited to a few dozen an hour unless your copy has its own key; a busy afternoon of adding ingredients can hit that.

Recently landed

• A name of its own: Spoon & Ledger, at spoonandledger.com. It was Larder. The spoon is the cooking, the ledger the record of what was planned, bought, eaten and spent; nothing else changed, and no one is signed out.
• The recipe list laid out four ways — a list, a full table, tiles, a board — grouped, sorted and filtered from the URL, with cost and calories a serving, a mark on what the shelves can make tonight, and a search that reaches ingredients.
• Spend, under Shop: twelve weeks of planned against shopped against the budget, what was tossed in dollars, and what gets thrown out most.
• Shopping trips: the list staged across stores and days, ticked off in the aisle, put away into the pantry.
• The pantry's five quick answers, four layouts, one Filters menu, a value tracker and pictures for the tiles.
• Recipes and Cooked under one tab, Settings on the bar, and the bar shows where you are.
• Calorie and macro tracking per person, with barcode scanning and USDA lookups.
• Cooking mode: steps, timers and amounts scaled to the pot.
• Bought meals, mains that need a side, and the Use soon and Targets lenses on the week.
